Flood Restoration

During the initial visit to a flood-damaged building, the situation appears over whelming. Based on there are a number of straightforward principles that apply to assist with the flood restoration effort.
Flood restoration has many steps. At first, you need to promote drying by open all doors and windows whenever you are present and leave as many open when you are not present as security concerns allows. Some styles of windows and patio doors may be able to be left partially open by inserting a nail in the window frame. Upper floor windows can usually be left open all the time and will assist in drying the whole house. So, try to air out from your house. You can open interior doors such as closets and doors of rooms to allow air movement to reach all areas of the building. Open kitchen cabinet and bathroom vanity doors and remove drawers and stack them to dry. When electricity is available, use fans to push moist air outside, and avoid use of fans if the house is contaminated with sewage as the air movement may spread bacterial contamination.
The second step is to remove salvageable contents that were not impacted by the water. When moving items from impacted areas of the building to other locations, consider using protective mats or nonslip drop cloths to avoid contamination of not impacted surfaces. Also you have to remove saturated porous materials such as mattresses. These items should be moved out of the building as soon as possible.
The last step is to install plastic barriers between affected and unaffected areas of the premises, between the first and second floors. This will reduce the potential for secondary damage occurring in the unaffected areas. You have to remove wet carpet and tack strips when the carpet is taken out to minimize injury during subsequent activities.
To summarize, you need to do all of these steps for Flood Restoration until the specialists come to remove it completely.
